Job summary
Applications are invited for the part-time post of Consultant in Community Child Health to work across the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, based in Cardiff at the St David's Children's Centre or Llandough Children's Centre.
This post - working 5 sessions per week with special interest in paediatric support of children with Eating Disorders - is one of three Consultant posts being advertised (25 sessions in total) and will work alongside and supported by a specialist CAMHS Eating Disorder multi-professional service and team. The Eating Disorder team is led by a Clinical Psychologist, with nursing and family therapist posts already recruited to. The doctor would be supported by a robust group of Child Psychiatrists working with different emphasis across all SCAMHS teams.
Main duties of the job
This post is part of new investment in phase 2 of the Eating Disorder team development. If desired, these sessions would also sit well alongside 2-5 other Community Child Health Consultant sessions.Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.
Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University's School of Medicine will be expected.
Consideration will be given to flexible working.
Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or within six months of their CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £41,178 per annum to £53,460 per annum plus a further £13,336 per annum available in Commitment Awards based on a 5-session commitment. Consultants in Wales paid on one of the first three points of the substantive Consultant pay scale also receive a Wales recruitment incentive payment.
Applicants must provide contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment in full. Applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must provide the name of their Medical Director.
