Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing specialised Eating Disorder Outpatient Treatment Team (EDSOTT) in Cardiff and Vale, NHS Wales. We are a Tier 2 eating disorder service for adults, based at Cardiff Royal Infirmary.
We are in the position to recruit staff who already have the competence and experience relevant to an 8a position, or staff who meet the qualification, training and competence for a band 7 post. In the case of the latter, we are able to offer a professional knowledge and skills based development programme that will provide you with the opportunity to acquire the appropriate skills, competencies and development to enable your progression into the 8a role within an appropriate timescale.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical psychologist joining EDSOTT, a core element of your role will be to complete specialised eating disorder assessments and deliver 1-1 evidence based psychological therapies. Your role would also expand to deliver group based interventions such as Compassion Focused Therapy groups and Contemplation groups.
There will be opportunities to enact supervisory skills and be involved in service evaluations and explore research ideas within the team. In the longer term the aim is for EDSOTT to follow a Wales -wide initiative to transform into an Early Intervention Service which will bring with it further opportunities to expand your role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Good Honours degree in Psychology with eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the BPS.
- Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS).
- HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
Desirable
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialist areas of psychological practice.

- A wide range of experience in applying clinical/counselling psychology in the NHS.
