Job summary
As part of the Transformation work across the Emergency and Acute Medicine Directorate we are looking to expand our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) team. We are looking for experienced emergency nurses who are motivated, dynamic who wish to train as ANPs.
The post holder will work as part of the wider Emergency Department (ED) team providing a high standard of clinical patient assessment across all areas of the ED and applicants with both adult and paediatric experience would be welcomed.
To meet the four pillars of advanced clinical practice you will provide autonomous clinical decision-making within your scope of practice as well as supporting the ongoing transformation work using your leadership, teaching and audit skills.
Main duties of the job
Apply clinical patient assessment and diagnosis skills to the undifferentiated patient group who attend the emergency department. You will work within your developing scope of practice to autonomously discharge or refer to speciality teams as required. Working across all areas of the Emergency Department including Resus, Majors, Paediatrics and Ambulatory Care.
Support and facilitate the development of clinical practice through research and education as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Provide leadership within the clinical team and support ongoing service improvement and development through audit and quality improvement projects.
Contribute to the teaching and education programme of the ED for the multidisciplinary team.
Independent prescriber or working towards.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
