Job summary
We are looking for a motivated Senior Clinical Fellow to join our team in Cardiff.
We are delighted to offer this new post working in both Emergency Medicine and Critical Care within a tertiary Major Trauma Centre. This post is aimed at strengthening the links between ICU and EM whilst providing an enjoyable, CV-enhancing post which will attract high calibre candidates.
The post is available from 2nd August 2023 for 12 months.
The successful candidate will work at registrar level within the Emergency Department, whilst also being allocated 30% clinical time to spend in the adult Critical Care Unit at UHW to gain further clinical experience in Intensive Care Medicine. Clinical time within the Critical Care Unit would be under consultant supervision, with opportunities to enhance existing practical and clinical skills in managing the critically ill patient.
The Critical Care Directorate of Cardiff and Vale UHB has a national and international reputation as a progressive department, particularly in the fields of clinical research, organisation and management innovation, and technical innovation. Further opportunities to undertake quality improvement and research projects would be available within both EM and ICM.
The post should build on the basic ICM curriculum covered within core and higher EM training, whilst honing advanced critical care skills applicable to the critically unwell patient within the Emergency Department.
The post would be suitable for those wishing to take time out of programme (OOPE).
