Job summary
We are looking for an experienced senior leader to work alongside the National Director for Elective Care and the Chief Financial Officer to bring together a world class Demand Insights team.
Working across NHS England, with key stakeholders across government, the team will assess demand for NHS services, trends in usage, and likely changes over time. Building an evidence base from both primary and secondary research, the outputs of the team will influence how the NHS plans and manages activity across urgent and emergency care, primary care, elective care, and wider preventative care.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be accountable for this programme of work and ensuring that it is used to drive transformational change. They will be expected to have demonstrable experience of delivering major programmes and leading effective teams. Being successful in this role will require a combination of specialist skills and experience including extensive experience of leading and implementing health The successful post holder will have an in-depth understanding of the health service at ESM level and demonstrable experience of developing and delivering strategies at a senior/national level. They will also be expected to have vast experience of operating in a political environment, including in parliament, with political parties and No10 including ministers and very senior officials across HMG as the post holder will be directly accountable for areas of policy to ministers.
