The Foundation Pharmacy Training Facilitator roles are an exciting opportunity that NHSE WT&E Midlands are pleased to be offering, as part of our expanding Pharmacy Programmes Team. Across the Midlands we have 11 Integrated Care Systems (ICS's), and we are seeking to recruit a facilitator to join the team to lead the delivery of the Foundation Training Programme for our trainees. The facilitator role are pivotal to enable delivery of the programme, under the leadership of the Foundation Pharmacy Training Programme Director (TPD). This is an exciting time to join the Midlands Pharmacy Programme Team, as we look to deliver the New GPhC Initial Education and Training Standards. You will support the TPD to develop and deliver the strategy for the education and training of Trainee Pharmacists, as part of the NHSE Foundation Pharmacy Programme. This role will see you being embedded into the system to deliver the Foundation Pharmacy provision across your dedicated ICS, and supporting the region, as NHSE become the education provider for Trainee Pharmacists. You will be supported by the TPD, to deliver training to trainees, facilitators, and educational supervisions, as part of the Foundation Training Programme.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individuals, who are dedicated to deliver high quality education and training to the workforce of the future:
- Design, create and deliver appropriate teaching, learning and assessment to support foundation pharmacy trainees and their educational supervisors.
- Be an active key member of the foundation school contributing to the design and development of the pharmacy education programmes.
- Support the business planning processes to provide input into the strategic development of the work of the department.
- Identify and support pharmacy trainees requiring additional support.
- Contribute to the availability of high-quality training and support for pharmacy practice and educational supervisors.
- Provide professional expertise on a specific portfolio of work
- Manage the provision and development of resources, services and opportunities for pharmacists and their educators from across the healthcare professions.
- Support equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in pharmacy education.
- To have an understanding and awareness of how the activities and objectives of the department align with the wider business planning for NHSE, in particular to the Midlands and nominated ICS(s).
- Support workforce planning and workforce challenges for the ICS and across the wider region.
Innovation and creativity are central to the role, as the post holder will be supporting the development of the Foundation Training Programme.
