Job summary

Secondment cover: Associate Dean for the Return to Practice Programme, London Region

Appropriate Medical grade - up to 4 sessions Medical Grade

An exciting opportunity has arisen to cover the post of Associate Dean for the Return to Practice programmes London Region from September 2023 to February 2024 while the current postholder is on secondment.

Essential qualifications and experiences for the role:

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in clinical education for an extended period.
  • Experience of providing professional support for medical and dental trainees/ or learners from across the healthcare professions in the NHS
  • Full registration and in "good standing" with the GMC
  • Membership examination of appropriate Royal College as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

Key elements for this excitingroleinclude:

  • Leading the GP Return to Practice Programme for the London Region
  • Participating in the Professional Development Team supporting both trainees and educators in the London Region.

Professional development services in London Region are centrally coordinated to ensure consistent high quality provision .

Professional development in London Region comprises :

TheProfessionalSupportUnit(PSU)providing specialist support to doctors and dentists in training, and other eligible learners from across the healthcare professions, ensuring that the postgraduate deans are compliant with the Responsible Officer (RO) regulations.

The MultiprofessionalFacultyDevelopmentteamprovides support to educators and promotes multi-professional approaches to development.

  • Up to date knowledge of research in Medical/ Health Professions Education
