Job summary

Our Assurance Services collaborate with clinicians, health-care teams, commissioners and contract managers to assure qualityoutcomes and value for money across Health and Care systems.

Senior Analysts play a key role in the provision of information, data and reporting that supports operational and policy teams to successfully develop and deliver improvements in quality and productivity within our teams and across wider health systems.

Working as part of a diverse team, our Senior Analysts collaborate with others and take a lead role in projects and programmes that deliver impactful recommendations and decisions on the best use of data capture, use and analytics.

Senior Analysts lead junior members of the team and work with these and others to deliver operational data capture tools and identify and advocate for change initiatives relating to the capture, recording and reporting of operational data.

There is flexibility around where you undertake the role, this could be any NHSBSA office location, working from home or hybrid working, but some travel will be required on occasion. The subject matter this role covers is the primary care contractor group of dentistry.

Main duties of the job

To provide data and insight to stakeholder colleagues via a range of reporting tools, along with advice on best practices for developing reporting. Assist with answering ad-hoc queries from stakeholders, and evaluate data quality of dental datasets.

Job responsibilities

In this role, you are accountable for:

  1. Delivering advanced, quality-assured analysis, interpretation and presentation of highly complex data and information to support the needs of the service and inform decision making within wider Health and Care systems.
  2. Developing, encouraging and supporting members of Business Insight, Development and Support teams to co-ordinate a proactive response to the needs of the service, including line managing and mentoring junior members of the team.
  3. Planning and organising own workload and that of others to manage activities or projects requiring analyses of operational, financial andwider Health and Care data and information.
  4. Taking an influential and leading role in projects, including making decisions on data capture and reporting; negotiating and influencing to ensure best practice in data capture, use and analytics
  5. Identifying and advocating for improvement initiatives relating to process, data and reporting.
  6. Supporting delivery of operational objectives by continually reviewing the best use of information, data and related technologies.
  7. Developing and implementing the teams customer and client focus that deliver on the services and corporate objectives.
  8. Leading the services liaison with internal and external analytical and statistical teams.
  9. Using business intelligence tools to interrogate, analyse and present data in an effective and informative manner.
  10. Effectively communicating complex data and analyses to technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing.
  11. Ensuring all information provided is accessible and understandable to a wide audience, and that it conforms to expected high standards.
