Job summary

HR Shared Services support NHS organisations in the delivery of their strategic people objectives and operational delivery plans to ensure that world class products and services are delivered to patients.

As a key part of our HR Shared Services Advisory Team, this role plays an important part in the provision of an Agenda for Change (AFC) Job Evaluation (JE) service to our existing and potential future NHS clients and supports in the delivery of advisory tasks and services. The postholder will deliver a professional, high quality and customer-focused JE service, and develop client networks to support the identification of new business. Main duties of the job

As a member of the HR Shared Services Advisory Team the post holder will have responsibility for planning and conducting AFC job evaluations, updating, and managing JE information, providing statistical information on JE activity, and coordinating the workflow for Job Evaluation across the Shared Services network. The Job Evaluation Coordinator will ensure submitted job descriptions/ roles are evaluated and provide the outcome to the customer within agreed timescales.

The postholder will also provide support to the Shared Services Advisory team in relation to advisory tasks and projects.

Therefore experience of supporting change management, implementing improvements and a working understanding of KPI's is key to be successful within the role.

In this role, you are accountable for:

  • Plan and ensure smooth workflow and delivery of the AFC job evaluation scheme for HR Shared Services customers to meet agreed service standards.
  • Support all AFC activity and undertake the role of member for Job Matching panels as required.
  • Manage and maintain a schedule of all JE activity, ensuring this is effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders and that any barriers or issues are escalated to the HR Advisory Manager immediately so as not to adversely impact customer service.
  • Ensure that JE panel members have access to all the necessary information required for evaluations to take place, including the correct support documentation and appropriate profiles.
  • Support the regular production of statistical reports in relation to JE activity to inform tactical decision making and service development.
  • Monitor the progress of all organisations covered by the HR Shared Services arrangements towards completion of JE plans. Produce detailed analytical JE outcome reports and advise client of the outcome.
  • Be the first line contact for all queries in relation to Job Evaluation to ensure we can resolve these in a timely manner.
  • Make and respond to all customer contact, including telephone calls and emails as required, exercising discretion, independent judgement and initiative when seeking or providing advice or clarification.
  • Advise on the job evaluation process and draft appropriate advisory responses to emails regarding these issues.
  • Manage access to JE reporting system always ensuring that information is kept confidential and complies with policies on Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
  • Produce, maintain, and manage an accessible database for off-line viewing of national job profiles and ensure the HR Shared Services Advisory Manager is updated regularly of the position in relation to the national profiles.
  • Proactively identify and implement more effective and efficient ways of analysing and presenting information using appropriate IT packages as part of a day-to-day approach to continuous improvement.
  • Develop good working relationships within the HR Shared Service network to ensure the timely and accurate provision of information and the identification of opportunities for service growth.
  • Support the arrangements for JE networking events and build and develop a network of JE stakeholders to support the identification of new business opportunities.
  • Organise and support client service review meetings to ensure there are full and proper records of discussions and decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyse outcomes within JE reporting system for quality assurance of the work undertaken and prepare reports cascading lessons learned to enable any issues to be addressed.
