As a Lead DBA heading up DBA's with a variety of technical backgrounds, you will be a lead practitioner in your field and you will demonstrate a range of leadership skills, managing and supporting a range of activities required in the BSA's journey to become a multi-sourcing digital business. The ICT teams are modernising and transforming the business in line with this journey and this includes the delivery of business solutions using agile methods in a continuous delivery environment.

Main duties of the job
Specialist SkillsAccountable for the design, development and maintenance of all NHSBSA databases required for development, testing, education and production usage.
Accountable for the design and development of scalable high availability database solutions for major business applications.
Accountable for planning and implementation of database backup and recovery strategies for business critical systems.
Design and implementation of database administration housekeeping policies to ensure continuity of system availability and recovery of functionality.
Design, implements and enforces security for all of the NHSBSA databases.
Evaluates releases of database software and tools to ensure that the NHSBSA is running products that are most appropriate to the business need.
