Job summary

These are permanent, senior Financial roles where you will report into the Head of Service and work closely with members of our senior leadership team. You'll be responsible for managing a team of finance business partners and accountants.

Main duties of the job

Medium Term Financial Planning/Business Planning

  • Lead development of a medium term financial plan and financial aspects of Spending Reviews
  • Setting activity, income and expenditure budgets
  • Provide support to achieve savings targets
  • Regular reporting
  • Maintain relationships with funders

NHSBSA Finance Strategy

  • Develop a coherent Finance Strategy; lead on alternative funding models

Business Partnering

  • Line manage finance business partners
  • Lead the provision of an excellent business partnering service
  • Provide high quality financial advice
  • Work with Head of Financial Strategy, NHSBSA senior leaders and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Financial Management Team
  • Provide assurance of service costing system

Business Case/Project evaluation

  • Provide financial expertise/advice to assure capital and revenue business cases
  • Contribute to Project Review Boards
  • Lead the financial aspects of benefits realisation
  • Support major strategic transformation initiatives
  • Oversee the work of the financial accountants
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Management Office
  • Design and deliver Financial Management training

Leadership and Management

  • Provide and model leadership to the team
  • To ensure best practise learning
  • Cultivate the service as a centre of excellence

Governance

  • Apply all Information Governance policies
  • Interpret and implement financial legislation, accounting standards and DHSC/NHS specific policies
  • Authorised signatory
