The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance and advice on promoting high quality health, public health and social care.

We do this by producing evidence-based guidance and advice for health, public health and social care practitioners; developing quality standards and performance metrics for those providing and commissioning health, public health and social care services and providing a range of information services for commissioners, practitioners and managers across the spectrum of health and social care.

The Facilities, Improvement and People Directorate is responsible for managing our human resources, facilities and improvement functions in alignment with NICE's core purpose.You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team at an exciting time when NICE is on a journey of transformation to become more agile to be able to respond to the needs of the health and care sector.

Main duties of the job

The Project Manager will work within programme and will be responsible for managing key work activities and priority development projects in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) area, ensuring that deadlines are met and that stakeholders are informed of progress.

The Project Manager will work across a large portfolio of CQI projects supporting NICE's provision of National guidance to the NHS to process, time and quality. They will be primarily responsible for supporting the successful delivery of two large-scale collaborative improvement programmes that are integral to NICE achieving our strategic objectives for 2025-26.

As the first point of contact for key CQI projects and programmes, the Project Manager plays a key role in coordinating Institute staff and input from a wide range of external stakeholders.

Significant and recent experience of managing complex project portfolios will be essential to the successful delivery of the responsibilities required of this role.

The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team is responsible for coordinating the learning and application of CQI across NICE. We support colleagues to learn and apply improvement methods and tools to help them tackle complex problems in their individual work and the work of their teams, helping to accelerate progress on strategic priorities. You will be joining a small team of 7 people with mix of improvement, analytical and administrative backgrounds.
