The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is going through an exciting period of change and rapid growth and there could not be a better time to join us and as a Technical Delivery Manager where you will play a pivotal role in supporting NICE achieve its ambitions to be an organisation as brilliant as the people in it by delivering stable, cloud first, secure by design, user focused services that improve employee effectiveness.

This role is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026 and qualifies for an annual recruitment and retention payment on top of the band 8A base salary of between £2500 and £5000 based on experience.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Infrastructure and Operations as well as digital and M365 delivery leads you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a diverse change portfolio. To do this you will need to;

o Manage delivery of IT infrastructure, operations, cyber, and user support portfolios.o Create a supportive environment for team self-organization and learning.o Lead planning processes, ensuring realistic estimation and forecasting.o Engage and manage relationships with other delivery leads and external suppliers.o Develop and maintain delivery metrics for stakeholder reporting and process improvement.o Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to portfolio delivery.

The post holder must be passionate about delivering through the creation and iteration of transparent, inclusive ITIL process whilst understanding how they can incorporate supporting other teams using traditional agile approaches, seeking opportunities to influence how they can be used to support delivery the overall delivery of the directorates agreed portfolio.

About us

The Technical Delivery Manager role sits within the Strategy and Governance function of the Digital, Information and Technology (DIT) directorate which takes a lead role in portfolio negotiation with the business against their priorities and transformation agenda along with taking accountability for the delivery of the prioritised pipeline of investments.

You will join the Infrastructure & Operations team to lead the planning of delivery of their portfolio of technology initiatives, including IT, Infrastructure, Cyber and software.
