Job summary

As an administrator within the Clinical Directorate you will play a key role in the efficient and effective organisation of the Clinical Directorate work programme, with a focus on operational and administrative support in the planning, production, quality assurance and delivery of medicines optimisation products and services.

The administrator will work closely with colleagues from across the directorate and provide administrative support to the project managers, programme manager and wider medicines optimisation team throughout the production process, from topic identification and selection to publication.

Main duties of the job

  • Developing and administering systems within the centre/directorate, including restricted areas
  • Planning and organising activities and own day-to-day work
  • Providing efficient and effective administrative and secretarial support to team members, including preparing correspondence and papers, collating, copying and distributing papers, and managing diaries
  • Organising meetings both virtual, in person and hybrid, and other events, which may include co-ordinating the attendance of attendees, organising meetings rooms, facilities and refreshments, setting-up virtual meetings
  • Attending and providing operational support to allocated events which may include travel and overnight stays
  • Servicing meetings, which will include producing agendas, collating and distributing meeting papers and minuting meetings
  • Leading on specific projects, e.g. to reorganise the teams filing system
  • Managing and operating information systems, including filing systems

About us

The medicines optimisation team within the clinical directorate is responsible for embedding the safe, effective and innovative use of medicines into NICE outputs to enable the best possible outcomes. The team is primarily made up of pharmacists, along with a medicines analyst and key operational staff. The administrator will be joining the operational staff which consists of 1 Programme Manager, 3 Project Managers, 1 Assistant Project Manager, 1 Coordinator and 2 administrators.
