Job summary
The Health Technology Assessment Adviser is responsible for ensuring the technical quality of the outputs of the Appraisals Team and for the line management of a group of health technology analysts.

Main duties of the job
The Health Technology Assessment Adviser is responsible for ensuring the technical quality of the outputs of the Appraisals Team and for the line management of a group of health technology analysts. This involves providing leadership on technical issues, reviewing and quality assuring the work of the team of health technology assessment analysts, contributing to the training and development of new and existing members of staff, and leading the development of high-quality methodological practice across the Appraisals Programme. These roles are in addition to acting as Technical Lead on some appraisals, and include participating in appeal hearings and providing scientific advice to technology developers.
The job holder is expected to be an expert in the methods of health technology assessment, including health economics, medical statistics, clinical trials, epidemiology or related areas.
