The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is going through an exciting period of change and rapid growth and there could not be a better time to join us and as a Senior Agile Delivery Manager (known in NICE as a Senior Service Delivery Manager) where you will play a pivotal role in supporting NICE achieve its ambitions to be an organisation as brilliant as the people in it, underpinned by digital services built collaboratively with trusted data.

This role is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026 and qualifies for an annual recruitment and retention payment on top of the band 8A base salary of between £2500 and £5000.

Interviews will be held on the 23rd of September with successful candidates notified by the 17th September.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with Business Service Owners and Digital Leads you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team from across NICE to create a number of digital enabled services to standardise and improve the end-to-end guidance production process as part of NICE's Strategic improvement to Timeliness of guidance development programme. To do this you will need to;

o Create a high performing, self-organising team with a culture of learning and transparencyo Coach the team in agile best practices, encouraging them to identify area's to improveo Manage the day-to-day delivery to support both business process and technical outcomeso Support the transition of services into business as usual along with future iterations of development through continuous improvement cycles

The post holder must be passionate about agile processes and keen to be an advocate for them throughout NICE, seeking opportunities to influence how they can be used to support delivery of this key programme of work.

About us

The Senior Agile Delivery Manager role sits within the Strategy and Governance function of the Digital, Information and Technology (DIT) directorate which takes a lead role in portfolio negotiation with the business against their priorities and transformation agenda along with taking accountability for the delivery of the prioritised pipeline of investments.

You will be joining an established team of four other Senior Agile Delivery Manager, working closely with two of them to deliver the Timeliness programme which is a strategic cross institute initiative.
