Job summary
The Head of International Strategy will develop and manage a new strategy to guide NICE's international work. Most Directorates at NICE have an interest in international work, whether that's due to methods collaboration, work sharing, or income generation, and the post holder will need to develop a strategy that advances and aligns this work behind a common vision. They will then need to deliver that strategy, maintain strategically important relationships, and manage collaborative international projects, all while acting as the face of NICE with our international partners.
Main duties of the job
o Develop a NICE-wide strategy for international collaborations to ensure we both contribute to and benefit from international developments in HTA, real world data and guideline development. As part of this, develop a compelling and implementable plan for NICE's international work that:o Enhances NICE's international reputationo Improves the quality of our work by learning from best practice internationally and jointly solving emerging challengeso Achieves greater alignment in methods used by HTA agencies internationallyo Improves efficiency within key international partners by sharing worko Improves the value we deliver to the taxpayer by generating income
o Coordinate activity on international collaborations across NICE, including directly overseeing a series of high-priority collaborative projects with international partnerso Establish and manage any governance forums required to guide and monitor international activity across NICEo Review NICE's international strategy and activities on a regular basis to ensure we get the most value from our international engagementso Lead engagement with several international forums and bilateral relationships, including international visits and speaking engagementso Work across government to ensure NICE's international work aligns with wider government aims and we present a joined-up front to our international partnerso Leadership and pastoral support for the International team

The Strategy, Policy and International Team supports NICE's Executive Team to define NICE's strategy, build and execute effective plans to implement it, and adapt it to changing circumstances. We ground our work in an understanding of the needs of the health system and the capacity of NICE to meet those needs, and we are responsible for defining and managing significant change across the organisation. The International Team leads an important part of this team to ensure that NICE delivers the greatest value to the health system and the taxpayer from its international activity.
