Do you want to play a key role in managing a portfolio of science policy and methods research projects that have a major impact on how NICE works?We have a vacancy for a Senior Scientific Adviser in NICE's Science Policy and Research team. Reporting to the Associate Director, the post holder will provide technical leadership to the portfolio of HORIZON Europe and IHI funded projects currently ongoing in SP&R. Initial assignments would focus on providing overall senior technical input and responsibility for the delivery of 4 to 5 projects and leading on developing new HORIZON Europe funding proposals.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Scientific Adviser would be responsible for a range of activities, including:
1. Contributing to the delivery of HTA Lab projects, including providing technical leadership2. Contributing to the development of Institute responses to science policy issues. Typically, a policy response is needed when new scientific developments, or new policy decisions by government or regulators, mean that NICE's policies or methods require updating. 3. Working with teams across NICE Institute to prioritise and co-ordinate science policy and research activities, including supporting updates of methods manuals.4. Managing NICE's delivery to multi-stakeholder collaborative projects under the supervision of the Associate Director.5. Providing senior technical expertise and input relating to the delivery of science policy and methods research projects.6. Developing proposals for funding applications in collaboration with partners in the UK and internationally.7. Developing relationships with key UK, European and international funders, research councils, policy organisations, academia and industry.
