Job summary

The Senior Data Architect has a key role in supporting deliver of NICE ambitions to provide useful and usable advice, to focus on what matters most and to be part of the system that constantly learns from data and implementation.

The postholder will lead a small team of data architects and be responsible for designing and implementing data management solutions to ensure NICE has trusted data to support its operations and expands its use of data for decision making.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual with expert understanding of the data management knowledge areas and strong track record in building relationships with business stakeholders. You must be passionate about data and how it can change people's lives while ensuring it is used in an ethical way.

This role will be at the heart of ensuring NICE takes an enterprise view of its data, that all staff can clearly understand, manage, and use these data effectively.

  • Be responsible for designing and developing NICE data architecture blueprint in support of NICE business objectives.
  • Own the delivery of the organisation's data strategy and data roadmap to ensure delivery against the business objectives.
  • Create NICE long term master data strategy and data quality strategy.
  • Be responsible for managing NICE master data as an organisational asset, providing clear view of the financial (cost-effectiveness) and other business benefits, likes timeliness and use-centricity.
  • Establish a set of principles, policies, implementation patterns and standards for recording, processing, and sharing data across NICE.
  • Support and line manage data architects, building a collaborative working environment and an innovative culture.
  • Work closely with the Information Governance function at NICE to ensure that Data Governance is aligned as part of the data strategy and data architecture for NICE.
  • Work closely with the Science, Evidence and Analytics function to align data architecture needs.

About us

The Digital, Information and Technology (DIT) directorate is a 70 strong team of digital, information and technology professionals.

You will be joining Data Management and Information Architecture team of 5 which is set to grow. The team is responsible for helping the organisation to manage its data efficiently and effectively so that people have trusted data at the time they need it in a format they need it. The team is also supporting the Information Architecture of our websites where the guidelines are being published, through content design, taxonomies, and search functionality.

Education

Essential

  • Master's degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Professionally recognised qualification in architectural frameworks or architecture discipline for example TOGAF, Zachmann, PEAF, etc.

Desirable

  • Data Management Certification, e.g CDMP

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in the definition of a data strategy and the establishment of a data architecture for an entire organisation.
  • Experience of data and architecture governance and design assurance processes.

Desirable

  • Significant experience of project and programme delivery methodologies, in particular agile methodologies, and how data architecture integrates into such methodologies.

Skills

  • In Depth Knowledge of Data Management areas like Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Integration and Interoperability and Data Warehousing and BI
