Job summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for operational planning and delivery for the Health Technologies programme in the Centre for Health Technology Evaluation.

Contract type: Fixed term contract until March 2025

Main duties of the job

The core role will be to plan and implement a centralised planning and operations function to support the guidance producing programmes. The post holder will be an effective collaborator who will develop and maintain key relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be considered, we are looking for:

  • Master's degree in business/logistics management or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/development
  • Experience of designing and implementing new business planning processes and meeting demanding delivery timetables
  • Experience of managing successful projects or programmes and leading change at pace
  • Ability to deploy and manage resources effectively, utilising workforce management / other data tools.
  • Advocacy, negotiation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations with internal colleagues and external partners.

Ability to gather data, analyse, critique, and synthesise complex information and prepare reports and briefing documents

The Centre for Health Technology Evaluation develops guidance on the use of new and existing medicines, medical technologies, treatments and procedures within the NHS.

Under the leadership of the Director for Medical Technology, the Health Technologies Programme assesses non-medicine products: medical devices, digital health, diagnostic technologies and new procedures, and develops guidance and advice on the safety, efficacy, clinical and cost-effective use of these products for the NHS and its social care partners.
