Job summary

Job Purpose

To support the Associate Director of People to develop and deliver a strategic and operationally sound Employee Relations (ER) service. Overseeing a team of People professionals who specialise in the relations of colleagues across the organisation.

Being a lead ER expert, they will ensure compliance with employment law and best practice. They will champion and foster positive working relations, which protect the organisation from litigation risk, whilst balancing the needs of colleagues and union representatives.

By adopting a culture of Just and Restorative learning, they will be a key promoter and influencer across their team, the wider people team and the organisation as a whole.

Location : Manchester however, hybrid working between home and Manchester would be supported Four day working per week to be considered.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

o Devise and be a key lead for the organisational strategy around Employee Relations culture and practices.

o Lead, develop and implement policies within the service line/division of responsibility.

o Use expert knowledge and skills to provide high level of service.

o Regularly make informed decisions on complex issues, involving high levels of risk or sensitive situations.

o Lead, develop and motivate a team to provide excellent services.

o Act as a role model and promote the NICE behaviours and values, forging close partnership working with colleagues and Union members.

o Be responsible for managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

o Ensure compliance with NICE policies and develop and keep under review new policies as needed for the service and organisation.

o Provide advanced advice, teaching, training and mentorship to the organisation.
