Job summary
The Data Journalist will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of NICE's communications strategy by creating stories demonstrating the impact NICE has on patients' lives and the health and social care system.
Working closely with the media team, graphic designer and social media manager the post holder will find innovative ways to deepen our audiences' understanding of the size and breadth of NICE's work and how we focus on what matters most and deliver value for the taxpayer.
Main duties of the job
- Be a data champion role model for the communications directorate, identifying and setting up new ways of tracking NICE's impact on patients and the system for use in various communications materials.
- Identifying and mining data sources within NICE to provide proof points for the NICE ambitions of; providing useful and useable guidance; getting the best care to patients fast while ensuring value for the taxpayer; continuously learning from data and implementation.
- Supply colleagues across NICE with source material from the above data sources for the use in a range of communications.
- Support the application of effective data management practice across the communications directorate. For example, putting policies and processes in place that facilitate delivery of data-driven communications.
- Maintain NICE's brand, tone of voice and style through all channels and activities and establish and uphold the highest standards for all content.
- Ensure that all materials adhere to brand guidelines and are compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
The post holder will undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role, including project work, absence cover or new initiatives.
The post holder may be required to travel to meetings occasionally, some of which may include an overnight stay.
