Job summary

To achieve NICE's strategic transformation ambitions and to continue to support our essential live services, it is crucial that NICE's data assets are managed appropriately and that the processes for developing, maintaining, and publishing guidance can rely on consistent, accurate well-structured data.

This role will be at the heart of ensuring NICE takes an enterprise view of its data assets, that NICE can clearly understand, manage, and use these data assets effectively in line with its strategic ambitions. The role will support Digital, Information and Technology directorate (DIT) and the Data Management and Information Architecture team in building data management capabilities at NICE, focusing on data integration for master data management, as well as for analytics, business intelligence and performance reporting. This is a great opportunity for somebody with excellent data management skills to help the organisation manage their data in a multi cloud environment and support the cloud migration.

Main duties of the job

As a Data Integration Engineer, you will:

  • Support the recently implemented Master Data Management solution within NICE and drive the wider implementation of data integration capabilities to support the data management solutions of the organization.
  • Provide expertise regarding the procurement, implementation and configuration of off-the-shelf data integration tools and other data integration solutions, including those built for NICE by a third party. Current data integration solutions exist within both Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments as well as some on prem.
  • Bring multiple data sources together in a conformed model, as well as analyse data from a complex single source.
  • Work closely with data architects, data stewards and software engineers to implement robust data integration between NICE applications where appropriate.
  • Work closely with software engineers' technical experts to support the foundations for a Data Science environment. The environment is to provision the expanding data science activity at NICE. The role holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to make sure the services are configured correctly for the data science practices. This includes R Services, the suite of Python services and Machine Learning Services.
  • Keep abreast of best practice in industry and across government.

Remain updated in the rapidly changing field of data integration, data quality, data migration and master data management.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in implementing data integration solutions including design, build and test data products based on feeds from multiple systems, that are complex and large scale, using a range of different storage technologies, access methods or both. You can create repeatable and reusable products.
  • Demonstrable experience in engineering for scale and reliability, both using on-prem and cloud platforms and associated data integration tooling (e.g. SSIS, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory)

Desirable

  • Experience working with master data management tools like Multiview, Profisee, Semarchy.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of software coding approaches and languages such as SQL, Transact-SQL, C# for implementing primarily SSIS solutions. Knowledge of ETL tools like SSIS, Scribe, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of different database technologies including relational, document and graph databases. Knowledge of SQL, T-SQL.
