You will be excited by the thought of using your knowledge and insight to lead an expert team in the organisation and delivery of data collection for technologies in managed access. In addition, you will recognise the value that your enthusiasm, diplomacy, excellent communications skills and collaborative/win-win approach can bring to the hugely important partnership with NHSE that underpins the success of this shared endeavour.
Finally, you will be keen to seize the opportunity to build on your interest/experience in the evolving managed access/evidence generation landscape to further develop NICE's and NHSE's experience and expertise in this important area.

Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Programme Director - Commercial and Managed Access, the Associate Director for Managed Access has day to day responsibility and accountability for all aspects of development, planning and delivery of the Managed Access Team activities, as well as working on strategic direction with the programme director and NHSE commercial colleagues. Importantly, the Associate Director is the key interface with NHSE for the Cancer Drugs Fund and Innovative Medicines Fund, ensuring optimal operational activities, communications and an excellent level of collaborative partnership working.
The Associate Director will raise awareness and publicise the work of the Managed Access Team, both nationally and internationally, as well as representing NICE and acting as a key opinion leader on NICE's activities relating to managed access.
As the Associate Director for Managed Access, you will bring the following to NICE
- Proven experience in managed access delivery and related health economics/health technology assessment (HTA)
- Understanding of real-world data/evidence approaches
- Ability to communicate confidently and collaboratively, generating trust and confidence in individuals and multidisciplinary teams at all levels and environments
- Experience of developing effective relationships / working collaboratively with a range of colleagues, partners and senior professionals at a national level
- Proven capability to utilise diplomacy and sensitivity effectively in challenging situations
About us
The Managed Access team is responsible for the transition from NICE evaluation into managed access, oversees the collection of data during the managed access period and the exit from managed access to NICE re-evaluation to determine if the treatment should go into routine use and funding. The Managed Access Team also provides the expertise to enable this approach to be undertaken in other technology areas as required.
