Do you want to be part of the team of Technical Analysts developing guidelines here at NICE?

We are currently looking for 6 Technical Analysts, based in Manchester or London.

Technical analysts contribute to the development and update of NICE guidelines. They are part of Guideline Development Teams and this role includes working with committees, appraising identified evidence using established systematic review methods and developing structured summaries.

All technical analyst posts will also support the development of guideline methods, alongside other members of the team.

Main duties of the job

The technical analyst will be a key member of one of the Guideline Development Teams. The post holder will work on guidelines to develop structured review questions and protocols, identify and appraising the evidence, and prepare evidence summaries using established methodology. They will be supported in this role by information scientists and health economists. The post holder will present the evidence summaries to the relevant guideline committee and support the committee to draft the final guidance.The post will require extensive liaison with other teams within NICE, both to support existing processes but also to work on improving systems and processes

The post-holder must possess a variety of skills and proven demonstrable experience of:

o Systematic evidence reviewing procedures and techniques - including critical appraisal, interpretation and synthesis of health care research evidenceo Excellent communication skills (written and oral) o Working independently to tight deadlines o Establishing good working relationships with a range of professional and working flexibly as part of a team

About us

The Centre for Guidelines is responsible for developing guidance on the promotion of good health and social care and the prevention of ill health, the appropriate treatment and care for people with specific diseases and conditions, and service delivery. The guidance is used by those working in the NHS, local government, social care, and patients and their families.

The Centre for Guidelines has three Guideline Development Teams, each has a team of technical analysts.
