Job summary

Reporting to the Health Technology Assessment Adviser, HTA Analysts will be responsible for the development, publication and quality assurance of guidance. You will provide technical oversight and guidance to the assessment of the clinical and cost effectiveness of medical devices, diagnostic technologies, digital health technologies (including AI) or interventional procedures, contribute to the training and development of new and existing members of staff, and development of high-quality methods and technical practice across the guidance programme.

There are band 8a and band 7 posts available across the MedTech programmes in this recruitment round. It is a joint recruitment round with only one application needed for consideration for all the available roles (all permanent apart from one band 7 fixed term role, maternity leave cover until 8 October 2023). Appointed candidates may work across various NICE MedTech programmes as required. Successful candidates in a band 8a role are expected to work with greater autonomy and have more experience and familiarity of HTA and health technology evaluation than those in a band 7 role. Those in a band 8a role may be required to supervise or line manage one band 6 analyst.

Main duties of the job

To be considered for these roles, we are looking for:

o Doctorate or master's degree (or equivalent) or equivalent relevant HTA experienceQualifications and/or experience should be in subject(s)related to HTA/evidence-based medicine (health economics, medical statistics, clinical trials, public health and health policy, epidemiology, systematic reviewing)o Individuals with knowledge across HTA including principles of evidence-based healthcare, critical appraisal and interpretation and synthesis of health care and public health research evidence.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate the ability to:

o analyse complex clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence, and to develop high-quality technical documentso prioritise own workload and produce high-quality work to meet frequent, non-negotiable deadlineso establish effective working relationships with a range of professionals both internally and externally.

Experience in health economics would be particularly beneficial for these roles.
