Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified information specialist to join the information services team at NICE.

Reporting to the senior information manager, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive information service to NICE. This includes contributing to methodologies and providing expertise in the appropriate use of information across a portfolio of programmes including NICE guidance and advice, and corporate library services

Contract type: Fixed term until 31 July 2023, to cover a secondment. Secondments considered

The SEA directorate comprises five teams, Science Policy & Research, Data Analytics, Office for Digital Health, Evidence Services and Information Services. It sits at the heart of NICE and is aligned with the guidance producing directorates to put evidence at the core of what NICE does. You will be joining a team of over 30 information specialists who provide professional expertise to enable access to high quality information for the development of NICE guidance and advice.

Key responsibilities include undertaking systematic literature searching and evidence gathering to support the development of NICE guidance, and contributing to the delivery of corporate library services, including current awareness services and information skills training.

You will have:

  • a CILIP-approved qualification in library or information science, or equivalent experience
  • skills in literature searching relating to public health, social care, evidence based health care or clinical effectiveness
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues within a multidisciplinary team and with colleagues outside NICE through excellent communication skills
