Job summary

This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Digital Designer to join our newly established Communications Design Platform Team within our Corporate Communications Unit.

You and our team will be tasked with creating brilliantly innovative and intuitive digital experiences and print products. You'll be passionate about design, motion graphics, accessibility and be eager to learn and advance yourself. You will be a champion for user needs and will advocate across the organisation for a user-centred design approach to solving problems. You will seek out and utilise user insight and feedback needed to ensure the continual improvement of the NHSCFA user experiences across all key digital platforms.

We also have key corporate documents that need to be fully accessible so we are looking out for someone who is fluent in Adobe Indesign.

Producing motion graphics and video editing skills should also be passion of yours as producing more engaging, dynamic videos is a field will want to do more of.

NHSCFA has offices in London, Coventry and Newcastle and there is the opportunity for office based, hybrid or home working based at any of these locations. In addition to the advertised salary working in the London area will attract High Cost Area Supplement where appropriate

Main duties of the job

As a digital designer, working within the corporate Communications Team you will be responsible for the design elements of internal and external communications and learning packages. This will include working with internal and external stakeholders to scope, design, produce, maintain and deliver a wide range of cross-platform digital assets including key corporate documents, design elements for presentations, e-learning materials graphic design elements, and multimedia production across multiple projects and activities within the organisation.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring designs and content provided by the business adhere to the organisations brand guidelines and promote brand awareness in line with the organisations corporate communications strategy and meet the requirements of accessibility for all users.

  • Demonstrable experience of leading and managing projects.
  • Experienced at working to deadlines to produce a range of graphic designs to support all levels of the organisation including support CEO and Board member engagements.

Desirable

  • Demonstrable creativity and innovation in applying IT, digital and business solutions for the benefit of the end user and the organisation.
  • Line Management experience

Specialist Knowledge

Essential

  • Proven graphic design experience for producing images, infographics, logos, publication styles animations etc. Knowledge of brand awareness.
  • Experience of reviewing customer feedback and adapting designs to improve the user experience
  • Demonstrable experience in creation of graphics for use in e learning packages.
  • Demonstrable experience in creation of whole e learning packages.
  • Ability to review and edit technical content, to meet the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations and best practise within the industry including Cabinet Office standards (for print/annual report etc), Public Sector standards and the Accessibility requirements
  • Ability to use initiative to provide solutions on complex technical problems.

  • Experience in a curriculum development / instructional design role or similar.
