Job summary

We are looking for a Corporate Performance Officer for our Planning and Governance team to manage the performance management system and admin functions for the monthly Corporate Management Group meetings. This is a full-time position; however, we may consider part time hours for an exceptional candidate.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 7 July.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Risk and Business Planning Manager, you will manage the performance management system used by the HFEA, creating monthly performance reports for our senior management team and the Authority (our board). You will also conduct dip-checks on the performance data submitted, update and develop performance measurement systems and manage the internal incident management system, reporting on lessons learned. You will be the secretariat to the Corporate Management Group meetings, booking rooms, setting agendas, minuting, and monitoring actions.

You should bring a good working knowledge of performance management and KPI tracking, excellent written and verbal communication skills and good working knowledge of Office 365, especially Excel. Advanced knowledge of working with PivotTables, graphs and charts is desirable.

Experience of minuting and meeting administration is essential. The role requires you to produce reports for the senior management team. Given the varied nature of this role, the ability to work under pressure with good time management and prioritisation skills are key.

About us

The HFEA is the UK's independent regulator overseeing safe and appropriate practice in fertility treatment and embryo research. We license and monitor clinics carrying out IVF, donor insemination, and human embryo research.

This post is offered as either office based (in which case you will need to attend the office at least one day per week our current team day in the office is Wednesday) or home based (in which case office attendance will be specified by your line manager based on business need). Our office is in Stratford, east London, in attractive new premises on the edge of the Olympic Park, alongside several other health Arms Length Bodies. Running our performance management system, through maintaining a performance scorecard, working with staff to develop new performance indicators when needed, carrying out overall performance monitoring and dip-checks of data accuracy, monthly data gathering and providing regular high-quality performance reports to the Senior Management Team and the Authority (our Board) for review and comment.

2. Managing and servicing the HFEA’s Corporate Management Group meetings. This entails meeting scheduling, room bookings, coordination of agendas, provision of papers, minute-taking at monthly meetings, monitoring of agreed actions and reporting on matters arising.

3. Assisting the Risk and Business Planning Manager with the management of our internal incident system, ensuring lessons learned are fed back into improved performance.

4. Working with the Risk and Business Planning Manager to provide administrative support for internal audits of our risk and performance systems, and to implement improvements to the performance management system in response to audit recommendations, reporting back as needed to the Audit and Governance Committee or the Corporate Management Group.

5. Assisting the Risk and Business Planning Manager with other administrative tasks relating to organisational planning and performance, such as co-ordinating the production of teams’ annual service delivery plans, inducting new staff in relevant areas and assisting with the coordination of other work in the absence of the Risk and Business Planning Manager.
