Job summary

It’s an exciting time for application development within the HFEA. We are looking for a Developer to maintain, support and enhance existing and future systems. 

Main duties of the job

You’ll have experience of full stack development along with experience delivering using some of the following technologies ASP.NET C#, WCF, WPF, Azure, Umbraco 7, Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy. In addition, you’ll have experience of working with business managers to define, scope and deploy application improvements.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The Developer is responsible for development of new and existing systems based on user needs and business objectives. The postholder is responsible for supporting the improvement of the overall development architecture working with internal teams and external resource as necessary.

1. Plan, write, maintain and test and document code for bespoke new and existing systems in accordance with the agreed programme of development, adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.

2. Analysing and resolving technical and application problems.

3. Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.

4. Package and support deployment of releases.

5. Ensure appropriate documentation exists during all development work including production of specifications, test schedules, code documentation and produce project reports.

6. Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications.

7. Prepare reports and manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.

8. Working closely with IT colleagues, ensure deployment and implementation of changes minimising disruption to business.

9. Participation in corporate projects where necessary.

10. Work as part of the Information and IT team in formulating and being accountable for the achievement of team objectives.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
  • Knowledge of current best practice relating to information management technology systems.
  • Knowledge of a range of software coding languages

Desirable

  • Relevant software development course or working towards or completion
