We're recruiting a team of remarkable people to support Carly - this is what Carly is looking for, in her own words;
Hi, my names Carly Im a fun-loving, young woman living independently in my own flat close to Wokingham railway station. I have a learning disability and am looking for a Support Worker who has good humour, is upbeat and likes to go out. I build good relationships with people who are firm but fair, keep boundaries and plan in advance what we are doing together.
I would like the same person to support me for you to get to know me and be familiar with my routines, so you must be able to commit to the following days;
- Mondays 10am 9pm
- Wednesdays 12pm 8pm
- Every other Friday 5pm 10pm
This is a part-time role for an average of 21.5hpw across 2 weeks. For candidates looking for full-time, additional hours may be available from our Independent and Community Living Services.

As a Support Worker, your role will be to support me in my day-to-day life with things like cooking, cleaning and shopping. I will need support with personal care (prompting, washing hair, personal tasks) and socialising, including appointments, events and outings.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Provide care and support to customers in accordance to care plans
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our customers
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Assist with meal preparation
- Support customers to access the community - appointments, shopping and socialising
- Recording keeping
- Reporting changes in health and behaviour
- Communicate with residents, families, colleagues and social care professionals
Experience in the care sector would be beneficial but is not necessary as we provide full training. This includes classroom-based learning for practical skills, online sessions for theory and awareness, and shadowing experienced staff to learn how we do things.

To contribute to the overall running of the service, supporting the seniors andmanagement to ensure CQC compliance.
To provide support that is safe, person centred and respects all human rights of thepeople living within the Independent Living Homes.
This role involves supporting the people living within the Independent Living Homeswith all aspects of their daily routines to ensure that they are able to live the lives theywant to.
You will collaborate with customers, families, carers and other professionals to providea consistent and coordinated service which maximises outcomes for the people livingat the Independent Living Homes.
You will have a responsibility to document all work undertaken and contribute toresidents reviews.
- Supporting the residents with all aspects of their care needs
- Providing support to access the community and activities
- Develop a warm, trusting relationships with the people living at our independent living homes to encourage them to express their needs, views and concerns
- Respects residents rights to privacy and ensure that their dignity is maintained at all times
- Be flexible and responsive to residents needs following their support plans
- Support residents to retain practical and social skills and their independence
- Provide sensitive and dignified personal care in line with residents preferences
- Assist with any domestics tasks
- Promote a healthy lifestyle and give advice and support in respect of diet, exercise, stress reduction and weigh management.
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals to support residents to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing
- Inform line manager and involve professionals of concerns or changes in residents needs and circumstances. Report any concerns regarding safeguarding with immediate effect to line manager/registered manager
