Registered Manager RGN - Nursing Home

Job summary

Optalis operates two nursing homes - Bluebell House in Wokingham and The Hollies Care Home in Burghfield Common. We provide support to older people living with dementia, and nursing care for people aged 65 and over who are living with long term health conditions.

The Hollies is set within a charming mansion house in the picturesque village of Burghfield Common. Optalis took over The Hollies in February 2025 and we have been working hard to reinvigorate the building, as well as build a great team to deliver care to our residents.

We're here to help people enjoy their later life, whether that means participating in meaningful activities, remembering their past in positive ways, or simply relaxing in our garden or exploring pursuits that matter most.

Peoples' preferences, needs and wishes are central to the support we provide. We work with people we support and their loved ones to plan their care and support, to make sure that we know and understand what is important. We have strong working relationships with our local health and social care teams to ensure that our care and support adjusts as peoples needs change.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to secure an experienced Manager with valid NMC pin to lead our nursing home team in delivering high-quality, relationship-centred care and services for all residents. This includes ensuring full compliance with internal and external standards, and aligning all activities with Optalis policies, procedures, vision, and values - while meeting business performance targets.

The Registered Manager will report directly to the Head of Nursing Services, ensuring the home consistently achieves and maintains at least a GOOD CQC rating. Initially, the focus will be on transforming the service to fully align with Optalis values and securing a GOOD rating within an agreed timeframe.

The role requires inspiring, motivating, and empowering all team members to achieve outstanding outcomes, always working in line with our vision and values.

The successful applicant will have;

  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing a CQC-regulated Nursing Home.
  • Active NMC registration with a valid PIN.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Please note, we reserve the right to close this position early should we receive a high volume of applications - we recommend you apply as early as possible using the link on the menu or going to Optalis.org/jobs
