Main duties of the job

Salary range: £41,808 - £45,021 p.a. inc. London weighting

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

Job responsibilities

The Post

Public Health Strategist

The post-holder will assist in the implementation of public health policies, national guidance and the evidence base to increase healthy behaviours and support the reduction of health inequalities in the borough.

The role will lead the recommissioning of the NHS Health Check contract. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the service, working with partners to identify how to increase uptake of the programme in target groups, including residents from the most deprived parts of the borough and marginalised groups.

In addition, this post will be leading on novel and community-driven interventions, i.e., womens health pathways andalsoprovision of cardiovasculardisease (CVD) checks within workplaces around Brent.

The Person

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic Public Health professional to join our team.

You will be highly organised and be comfortable working within a fast paced environment where the focus is on the delivery and management of multiple programmes and projects to high standards within tight timescales.

You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of partners, to support the development of locally appropriate public health programmes.
