Job summary

The Systemic Practitioner role is part of a funded pilot program designed to bring systemic practice into Local Authority Family Help services.

Main duties of the job

In this role, the practitioner will provide ongoing training, lead monthly group reflective sessions, and offer one-on-one consultations for key workers. They will also support the use of tools like genograms and outcome measures.

Additionally, the role involves helping with the evaluation of the pilot by assisting key workers in completing outcome measures with families and aiding in data collection. The post holder will receive training from the Institute of Family Therapy (IFT) to become a fully qualified systemic psychotherapist.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systemic Practitioner to join our Family Help Service on an innovative pilot scheme to support the embedding of systemic practice. Systemic practice has its roots in systemic therapy which focuses on group relationships or networks, such as family and friends, rather than solely on an individual's thoughts and feelings.

Our Westmorland and Furness Childrens Services team recently received a rating of 'good' overall in our first routine Ofsted inspection and are committed to making continuous improvements to our service. if you have experience of training in systematic practice, supervision and reflective practice an are looking for a role where you will work collaboratively with a team who are passionate about development and positive change then we would love to hear form you.

We are looking forward to offering this opportunity to a qualified and passionate individual who can support us in making a real difference to children and families in Westmorland and Furness and support the development of our dedicated Family Help Service. You will have a great working knowledge of current developments in Systematic Psychotherapy and systematic practice in children's social care and an understanding of local authority Family Help services within social care context.

In this role you will be fundamental in supporting our teams to develop their skills in working with young people and families who experience multiple and complex needs, including developing systematic practice through advice and consultation. You will plan, develop and deliver specialist training and will represent the systematic psychotherapy discipline more widely within our Childrens Services.
