This is an apprenticeship opportunity where 20% of time will be spent at the University of the West of England (UWE), undertaking a BSc in Public Health (Hons).

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

80% of your time will involve on-the-job training within the Councils Public Health and Communities Hub. You will be working flexibly as part of a team, supporting Public Health Consultants, Heads of Commissioning and Public Health Managers to improve health outcomes for the Gloucestershire population.

The remaining 20% of your time will be spent undertaking a BSc in Public Health (Hons) from the University of the West of England (UWE). At the end of the programme, you will be eligible to apply to and join the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR), which is a recognised professional accreditation.

About us

We are looking to recruit a Public Health Practitioner Degree Apprentice who is self-motivated, organised and passionate about developing a career in public health. This is a 3-year apprenticeship training programme to become a Public Health Practitioner.

Location: Gloucestershire County, Shire Hall, Gloucester, GL1 2TG (it is a requirement of this post to work from the office location a minimum of 2 days per week, with the remaining time working from home. New starters will be expected to come in to the office more frequently in the first 3 weeks for induction).
