Job summary

London Borough of Harrow as a fantastic new opening for a Programme Evaluation Officer to join the London Borough of Harrow and Harrow Borough Based Partnership.

The post holder will support London Borough of Harrow and the Harrow Borough Based Partnership to build on the existing evaluation framework to evaluate defined projects and programmes of work to understand the impact these projects have on reducing inequalities in the borough. In addition, you must ensure continuous performance improvement across the partnership, achieved by providing training, mentoring and coaching to support peers and programmes of work in evaluating the project against key indicators and outcomes to understand the impact on health inequalities.

The primary responsibility for the Programme Evaluation Officer will be to evaluate programmes of work to address inequalities across the borough, including building and maintaining effective relationships with relevant partners, including the NHS and the community and voluntary sector.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with an office expectancy of at least two days per week. This role is offered as atwo-year fixed-term contract/secondment, which could be either part-time or full time (from 21.6 - 36 hours per week - to be discussed at interview).

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have:

  • An understanding of the challenges facing public sector organisations in the current climate.
  • Knowledge of health inequalities.
  • An understanding of the different evaluation approaches that can be used to understand the impact of an intervention, projects or programmes.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience collating, analysing and interpreting information with a view to developing recommendations.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and analyse quantitative and qualitative information and technical detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy workload.
  • Ability to contribute to the work and priorities of the wider organisation.
