Main duties of the job

About the role

As a MiCare Support Worker you:

Provide support to adults to develop and maintain activities of daily living

Support people using the service following training and guidance, to undertake a range of social care tasks such as washing, dressing/undressing, showering, and bathing, meal preparation, domestic activities and engaging in community activities and lots more

Using supportive and motivational approaches to help service users identify and achieve their goals

Undertake a range of delegated health care tasks as required such as prompt prescribed medication, supporting the application of prescribed creams, eye and ear drops, catheter care and prompting exercise as prescribed by the physiotherapist

About you

Do you have the same values as described above and want to work in an innovative and passionate team? Do you take pride in what you do?

Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Social Care, or equivalent or be willing to work towards this qualification.

Experience of providing personal care and support in either a paid or voluntary capacity

Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Able to record observations relevantly and accurately.

Able to work effectively on own as well as part of a team.

Able to work weekends and bank holidays

Willing to take part in a two week running rota.

To provide a safety net homecare service for people at the end of their Reablement, pending handover to an ongoing care provider, or to meet the needs of people in emergency situations. To provide support to adults to develop and maintain activities of daily living.

Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Social Care, or equivalent. Must be prepared to undertake and complete this if not already attained. A good level of education equivalent to GCSE standard

Experience: Experience of providing personal care and support in either a paid or voluntary capacity

Knowledge: An understanding of the Care Act 2014, and values of promoting independence, choice, dignity and rights Common conditions experienced by older people

Skills: Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Able to record observations relevantly and accurately Able to work effectively on own as well as part of a team

Values: Able to recognise discrimination and be proactive in ensuring the Councils policy is put into practice.
