Buckinghamshire Council is looking for a Public Health Epidemiologist to join the Public Health team.
This is a personal contract with a salary of up to £72,975 per annum, depending on experience.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a Public Health Epidemiologist to lead and manage complex public health and intelligence projects to improve health and reduce health inequalities in Buckinghamshire. They will use their statistical and epidemiological expertise to shape and inform the development and delivery of public health and partnership strategies and programmes. The role requires expertise in the use of data intelligence, health evidence, evaluation methods and appropriate health metrics.
The post will be managed by a Consultant in Public Health who leads on intelligence, and they will work closely with the Councils Business Intelligence team. We offer flexible working and opportunities for continuing professional development.

They will provide expert statistical and epidemiological advice to the organisation and other strategic partnerships; often there will be conflicting information which will require a high level of understanding and advice on how it should be interpreted. You will work in partnership with other local authority services areas and other external partners and service providers to maximise health improvement and reduce inequalities in health.
