We are looking for a Community Occupational Therapist, who can demonstrate on-going experience in assessing and reviewing a variety of moving and handling cases and other cases with a complex care package, to work as part of a citywide team.

The post holders must be able to work within a team, but also autonomously manage their own workload.

The team will work closely with the Social Workers in the team. The Occupational Therapy team will initially focus on:

  • people who have been discharged from hospital, with a new package of care, where there are two carer staff members
  • people who would benefit from a full functional assessment, with an aim to reduce the package of care, where the social worker identifies areas that could be looked at from an OT perspective, where an OT has not previously been involved, or where there is no equipment currently in place.
  • Professional supervision and line management are provided by a Disability Team Manager, who is a registered OT.
