Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Population Health Management Analyst to join Shropshire Councils Public Health team. To support the delivery of a vision to improve the health of Shropshires population, Shropshire Council are recruiting a Population Health Management Senior Analyst. This role will work to support the Public Health Department with a focus on Drug and Alcohol misuse and Children and Young People. This will drive the development of shared performance, business, and community intelligence products to inform commissioning decisions and provide insight into these two key focus areas.

Main duties of the job

You will need to demonstrate:

An understanding of the principles of population health management and its scope for driving change

An ability to lead and drive forward work programmes to embed evidence-based decision making in complex organisations

Experience of working in an environment of continual system change and understanding the implication this has for the generation of business intelligence

Ability to analyse, interpret and report on complex datasets using appropriate analysis and statistical techniques

You will work closely with the Public health commissioners and service providers to ensure that:

Population health data is accessible to those who need it

Data quality is optimised

Data is made available to inform significant, high profile and business critical decision making

Data informs service & financial planning for the organisation, services, and partnerships identifying pressures, priorities and understanding their delivery.

Statutory partnership working is upheld

Statutory returns to government are upheld

Performance information is provided to services to ensure that the organisation meets its statutory service obligations

About us

Shropshire Council are seeking an individual with clearly demonstratable experience having worked in public health intelligence or similar. The ideal candidate will have an interest and knowledge of population health intelligence and systems and a commitment to working closely with service providers and commissioners to gain insight into how data can improve outcomes for population health.
