Senior Public Health Specialist (Adults)

Salary - £41,418 - £46,464 (Grade 7)

Hours - 37 hours per week

Contract type - full time, permanent

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Adults Team within Wolverhampton Public Health. The team leads on themes which include health protection, healthcare public health, public mental health and works closely with local healthcare system partners to deliver key priorities around topics including chronic disease prevention, adult social care, screening and vaccinations and management of infectious diseases.Under the direction of the Principal Public Health Specialists,the post holder will design, deliver, monitor, and evaluate programmes of work, in partnership with a range of key stakeholders.

Whilst the successful candidate will primarily focus on supporting public mental health, healthcare public health, and health protection, they will also be involved in other Public Health initiatives and programmes, working in a matrix way across the service.The post holder will be involved in the development and day to day delivery of public health initiatives, input into commissioning of services, work in partnership to support and influence the work of other agencies and provide specialist technical expertise and training on evidence base, data interpretation, need assessments, equity audits, policy, evaluation etc.
