Job summary
The starting salary for this role is £26,471 based on working 18-hours per week per annum pro rata to £52,942 for full time working.
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Advanced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis, providing operational line management of the Children with Disabilities Occupational Therapy service.
The role involves offering a high level of professional Occupational Therapy input to children and young people with complex needs, and their families, who live in Surrey. The team is based in two locations, one in Victoria Gate, Woking, and the other in Woodhatch Place, Reigate. However, this is a community-based hybrid role so will involve visiting children in their homes, working from your own home, and/or using any other Surrey County Council offices as and when required.

Main duties of the job
In this role you will provide line management to the Senior Occupational Therapists in the form of both formal and informal supervision/support to them.
You will manage a small but highly complex caseload, providing full Occupational Therapy assessments and support to children with the most complex and significant needs following initial assessment by the Senior Occupational Therapist being supervised. This will include providing review and follow ups of complex full OT assessments, providing advice and support for children and young people with a wide range of needs and will include completing risk assessments for the provision of distinctly specialist equipment and making recommendations for major and minor adaptations.
You will engage with partner agencies to ensure continued support of children/young people with complex needs and their families in challenging circumstances.
You will have access to formal and informal learning opportunities that will enable continued professional development as well as develop line management skills.You will report into the Occupational Therapy Team Managers, who you will meet with regularly to ensure the continued improvement of service outcomes for children and young people in Surrey.

The team is a well-established and very experienced team who sit within the Children, Families, and Lifelong Learning directorate alongside the Children's Crisis Service and Children with Disabilities Outreach teams. We have strong links with all other Children with Disabilities Social Work Teams working collaboratively to ensure we meet and safeguard the needs of the children and young people we support.
