Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Public Health professional
to lead the strategic
direction and dissemination of evidence, intelligence and evaluation, across Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire
and Milton Keynes.
The post holder
will provide expert public health advice to multiple stakeholders and lead key
public health functions, including delivery of the core offer to the local
Clinical Commissioning Groups, the Joint Strategic Needs Assessments and Annual
Director of Public Health reports. They will also use information and
intelligence systems to inform evidence-based recommendations regarding health,
wellbeing, care and quality.
Main duties of the job

the local system needed to ensure effective commissioning and delivery of
public services, the best use of available resources, and the best outcomes for
local people. You will be a leader in the delivery and dissemination of
evidence, intelligence and evaluation, working with multiple stakeholders in a
complex environment.
You will manage multiple and changing demands and meet tight deadlines. You
will deal with complex public health issues, making evidence-based recommendations
regarding health & wellbeing, care & quality, and achieving best value.
The role requires a high level of intellectual rigour, negotiation skills,
motivational ability and flexibility to deal with complex issues. A high level
of tact, diplomacy and political awareness is essential along with the ability
to understand organisational cultures, to enable effective working across
organisational boundaries and influence without direct authority.
About us
The postholder will be a senior member of the Population Health, Evidence
& Intelligence Team, which provides a shared service to Bedford Borough,
Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Councils. The post holder will have key
