Job summary

You will work independently leading on the development and delivery of infection control strategy and policy, which improves the quality of infection prevention and control across the three local authorities geographies.

You will develop and deliver an infection prevention and control (IPC) strategy and work strategically to ensure compliance with national and local IPC initiatives, particularly relating to COVID-19.

The post holder will provide specialist clinical advice and support to public health and other directorates for infection, prevention and control within the Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Health Protection Team, supporting the health protection function in the context of COVID-19 across the three geographies, working strategically with a wide range of partners across the geographies

  • Work strategically to ensure compliance with national and local initiatives regarding infection prevention and control leading to high quality advice.

    Provide highly developed specialist and expert clinical advice on infection prevention and control particularly relating to COVID-19 across the three areas.

  • Undertake surveillance and analysis of COVID 19 infection, communicating this effectively.

  • Provide specialist and expert training and education programmes to relevant providers and stakeholders.

  • Network and collaborate with infection prevention and control professionals, nationally, regionally and locally.

  • Analyse, collate and disseminate complex data and information regarding healthcare associated infections and infection prevention and control

Lead on anticipating IPC problems before they arise, making recommendations for and resolving related problems.
