We are seeking a dynamic Public Health professional to take up this exciting role in a first-rate Public Health Team in a county where we can really make a difference
Main duties of the job
As a Consultant in Public Health, you will be a core member of the Public Health Directorate Leadership Team within Oxfordshire County Council.
It is expected that, in addition to representing public health in key meetings within the council, your Consultant in Public Health initial job plan will include leadership for information, surveillance, and research. This includes public health leadership of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, data and performance reporting, chairing the Councils Surveillance Unit, and supporting the Director of Public Health Annual Report. The job plan will also include responsibility for developing public health research collaborations and funding opportunities across the Council, and with academic and system partners in Oxfordshire.
The Consultant in Public Health post will contribute to public health teaching and audit and the management of public health staff in line with lead areas and will report to the Deputy Director of Public Health.
Based in Oxford, you will be encouraged to form strategic relationships with local organisations across the County in order to develop joint work interests which align with the Councils priorities.
