Job summary

Salary range:£68,742 - £72,041 per annum

Work location:County Hall Oxford City with close proximity to the M40. Hybrid Working arrangements to be discussed.

Main duties of the job

As SEND Operations Manager you will be leading the Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) team, overseeing statutory responsibilities for young people aged 0-25 with EHCPs, ensuring compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014.

In this role, you will ensure that children, young people and their families are listened to whilst contributing to the development and provision of services to support them. It is important that co-production is embedded throughout the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process, and this will be a key focus for this role.

In addition, you will collaborate with stakeholders to enhance engagement in education and contribute to specialist place planning. You will provide strategic oversight of Tribunal case management, maintain strong partnerships with local schools and organisations, and lead on the teams readiness for inspections.

Your responsibilities will also include project management, performance monitoring, political engagement, budget accountability, and ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders.

The Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Casework Team is a newly remodelled team within our wider SEND service.

This is a large team of 50 employees comprising of many different roles, all ensuring our compliance with statutory regulations. The team has four sub teams: Early Years and Primary Team, Secondary and Post 16 Team, Tribunals, Resolutions, and Compliance Team, and lastly the EHC Business and Finance team who deal with the financial and administrative aspects of the EHCP management.

The team are dedicated to ensuring fair, equitable, and accessible services for children and families and making a positive impact and difference.

As Operations Manager you will play a crucial role in driving the leadership of the four teams whilst reporting directly to the Head of SEND, working very closely together in support of ourDelivering Better Valuestrategic vision.
