Job summary
At Lincolnshire County Council we believe that every child has the right to outstanding care. That is why we work hard to ensure the Children and Young Peoples Nurse (CYPN)service provides excellent care and support to the children that meet the criteria of the commissioned offer. We have opportunities for full time roles in Boston and South Holland with bases at Boston and Spalding.
About the RoleThe CYPN service works closely with other health services to support children and young people across Lincolnshire. This includes delivering packages of care to support for example continence or advice on certain diagnosable behavioural/developmental conditions as well as supporting the public health agenda. We work within a variety of settings such as clinics, schools and homes, no two days are the same. This role offers a genuine opportunity to make a positive impact on the children/young people and their familys lives.
Visits are required so there is an expectation for the successful candidates to be able to travel across the county to meet service need. We provide a comprehensive induction/training package.
About the TeamOur diverse and welcoming team is made of dog lovers, plane enthusiasts, ramblers, wombles, readers, crafters, Japanese fanatics, gardeners, and power lifters who are proud of the support we give to each other.
Main duties of the job
About You
You must be a registered nurse (paediatric/adult/mental health/learning disabilities) with a current NMC registration and relevant paediatric experience, Visits are required so you must be able to travel across the county in a timely manner.
What are we looking for?
- A good understanding of childrens safeguarding
- An individual who can be proactive and work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A good understanding of clinical governance and the CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards for community practice.
- To be able to work in a changing environment and have the skills to support others in that situation.
- To be committed to working collaboratively and in partnership with Early Help and Social Care colleagues to improve outcomes of children and young people.
- Above all else you need to have a positive "can do" attitude and be passionate about making a difference for the children and young people of Lincolnshire
