Job summary
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we have
an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our
dedicated and enthusiastic countywide team supporting children and young people
with disabilities in Lincolnshire.
Using the PEOP model we provide support through provision of advice, equipment and recommendations for adaptations supporting children, young people and their carers in the home environment.
This role is based in Sleaford with some travel required around the county and hybrid working available.
Main duties of the job
The Occupational Therapy Practice Supervisor will be responsible for providing a safe, child focused, needs led service to assist the family/individual child/young person in achieving a satisfactory standard of personal development and independence and in reducing the risks of moving and handling through risk assessment, equipment provision and good practice.

Job responsibilities
The Practice Supervisor for Children's with
Disabilities Occupational Therapy Service (CWD OT Service) is the lead OT
responsible for day to day operational management and delivery of OT services
to children /young people with disabilities.
The OT Practice Supervisor will be responsible for providing
a safe, child focused, needs led service to assist the family/individual
child/young person in achieving a satisfactory standard of personal development
and independence and in reducing the risks of moving and handling through risk
assessment, equipment provision, and good practice by:
- providing expert knowledge and advice on Occupational
Therapy professional and clinical standards.
- assisting the Team Manager by ensuring that the teams
professional subgroup is provided with the leadership necessary to meet
internal clinical and corporate governance standards, external professional
standards and implement best practice.
- providing Clinical Leadership, professional advice and
practical guidance to the childrens social care therapists in the management
of their case loads.
- providing supervision, appraisal and training to social
care childrens Occupational Therapy staff and students.
- implementing policy changes in own clinical area which
impact across professions and / or agencies.
- working in partnership with other agencies including the
NHS, District Councils, Social Care, and Education etc to ensure the
Occupational Therapy is fully integrated into the childs care. To work with
these agencies to establish new ways of working to deliver integrated practices
for the future.
- working collaboratively with the training department to
identify essential training for staff in order to provide a safe and evidenced
based service.
- being a resource for training of peers and other health

- Ability to deal with conflict.
- Knowledge of HASAW including Moving and Handling and IOSH
- Understanding of Current Social Care Legislation.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent understanding of financial systems, budgetary monitoring and systems.
- Effective management of budgets.
- The ability to quickly establish strong positive relationships across the organisation at all levels, including elected members.
