Job summary
Would you like to make a difference to people living with dementia and carers in Swindon? This role will give you the opportunity to act as a dementia friendly co-ordinator, ensuring that Swindon continues to develop as a community where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported.
Working as part of the Public Health Team at Swindon Borough Council, this post will focus on dementia and will suit someone who can work independently, deliver projects successfully and is skilled at following up opportunities to make change happen. The role will provide the opportunity to work in partnership with people living with dementia and carers, businesses, charities and other organisations, promote dementia awareness across Swindon, and identify and support events and services that are needed.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the Swindon Dementia Action Alliance to ensure Swindon continues to be accredited by the Alzheimers Society as a dementia friendly community.This role is part-time, 18.5 hours a week with some flexibility over which days/hours worked.Our vision is to create healthy, strong and resilient communities. Our highly successful public health team works to improve and protect the health of Swindon residents, tackle health inequalities and protect the most vulnerable.There is also an expectation at the current time that this post will support the Covid-19 response.
