Job summary
Do you want to work in a team where we encourage and celebrate young people's aspirations? If so we have an exciting opportunity for you to work within our Leaving Care Service as a full time permanent Personal Advisor. You will provide advice and assistance to our Care Leavers, supporting our young people in preparing for independent living and helping them achieve their wishes and goals for the future. The team follow a Pathway Planning process for care experienced young people (predominantly 18-25 years old) transitioning to adulthood, working with a variety of professionals that may be involved in a young persons life to ensure a joined-up approach focusing on a young persons holistic needs. Each day as a Personal Advisor will be varied, presenting new challenges and learning opportunities. You will build strong and supportive relationships with our young people by being consistent, reliable, and trustworthy. You will meet young people where they are and remain focused on achieving positive outcomes for them. Main duties of the job
As a Personal Advisor, you will assess young peoples needs and formulate their Pathway Plans. You will work with our Care Leavers and collaborate with other important people in their lives, including family, friends, and professionals in education, housing, and health services. You will regularly keep in touch with our young people and ensure they can access our local offer for Care Leavers. As a Personal Advisor, you will ensure accurate and timely records are kept. You will also deliver our duty support service alongside all other PAs. You must possess excellent organisational skills, strong personal resilience, and a passion for working with young people to improve their outcomes. You will work in partnership with other agencies involved with our young people. You will commit to working with young people from diverse backgrounds, who have diverse needs, promoting good outcomes for all our care leavers. You will have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with a relationship-based practice approach. You must hold a minimum of an NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant work area. Successful candidates must be willing to travel both around Cambridgeshire and to other locations across the country (traveling is essential to this role).
